More predictions for 2011

EdTech Junkies are jumping and hollering about all the great new possibilities that are becoming available or are just beyond the horizon. Tech &  Learning Magazine offers their own predictions here, and guess what…They are pretty predictable.

The one that I found a bit controversial was the use of Facebook in the class.  First of all, many schools simply filter or block Facebook altogether, so it is really not an option. On the other hand, I can see the benefits of a class putting together a Facebook page and adding “friends” such  as other classes, authors, etc. Students could create a FB page for a historical figure, as the article suggests, which might be an interesting project, but students would have to be well trained in netiquette before they can embark on such adventures.
